NORWALK, Conn. -- Julius Cole, of Norwalk, died on Monday, Dec. 28. He was 105.
Cole was born on Sept. 14, 1910 in Quitman, Georgia, to the late Lucious Cole and Pearl Bell. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and retired from the YMCA of New Canaan after numerous years of service.
He is survived by his wife wife, Rev. Alethea Johnson-Cole; his niece Alice Watkins; his step-daughter, Sharice Johnson; a step-granddaughter Ashley Paulemon; and a god-daughter Cynthia Cruz.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, followed by a service of celebration at Bethel AME Church, 19 Academy St. Norwalk with Rev. Dr. Richard Wesley Clarke officiating. Interment will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery.
